TTC subway service resumes between St. George and Woodbine after man jumped onto tracks to flee police

The man was taken to hospital after the incident at Sherbourne station that allegedly began with an assault on a woman.

Subway service between St. George and Woodbine stations has resumed after the Friday afternoon incident.


A man who jumped onto subway tracks in an attempt to evade police officers at Sherbourne Station on Friday afternoon has now been taken into custody, Toronto police say. 

Police responded to a call at the station around noon for reports of an assault: A man was assaulting a woman on the subway platform, police allege, and reportedly fled from police by jumping onto the tracks.
